Savannah + Anna Brooks: Urban Fun!

My most faithful clients and I met up again for some fun in the city for one of my urban sessions. This was so fun- especially with little Anna Brooks- she’s growing up so fast (not to mention Savannah will be 5 this month)! Wow! Time certainly flies!
Take a look at my favorite images of the girls as we hung out downtown! So cute!

May 4, 2009 - 2:50 pm Kim - love the chair! looks like you have a fun time.

Lynn: Vanity Fair Bridal

No, not really. But these images sure have the feel of a Vanity Fair Spread, don’t they? I photographed Lynn’s bridal portraits at Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston. BEAUTIFUL! These are just a few of my faves- so glad I can post now that she and Jason are married!

May 11, 2009 - 5:33 pm Jonathan - Hey Amy, I sent you a friend request over on Myspace this morning. I thought I'd see if you had a blog, and have to say that I love the images here. I especially love the second one down in this shoot. I saw you on WYFF4 news the other night and that's how I came to look at your work. I'll add you to my RSS feed, and check in from time to time. My blog is hauntingimagesphoto.blogspot.com in case you'd like to take a peek.

May 4, 2009 - 6:06 pm Kim - WOW Amy these are incredible!!!! I love the posing, lighting, post processing...I love it all. Great work :)

Lynn + Jason: Hooked!

Take a sweet and beautiful girl and a funny and handsome guy and you get a classic love story - Lynn & Jason! It seems like forever ago when I first communicated with Lynn about me photographing their wedding. She’s passionate about photography and when anyone like her compliments my work like she did, it’s so humbling. You may remember their gorgeous engagement session last year! Well I can assure you their wedding did not disappoint! Their ceremony was held at the Second Presbyterian Church in downtown Charleston, with a stylish, “Southern Living Flair” reception held just outside. It was simply beautiful. Details were exquisite, and Lynn + Jason were looking fierce! Take a look for yourself!

Jordan’s Rocking the Prom!

So, Jordan is my awesome babysitter- (no you can’t have her)…and I wanted to have a prom session with her since I’ll be shooting a wedding when her actual prom comes around. So we went around downtown a little with her boyfriend, and I had an awesome time! Her dress is stunning- and she definitely has a natural modeling talent. Below are my favorites- which took a while to pick from!

April 30, 2009 - 8:55 pm Pam - Amy, I am Calebs mom (the boyfriend), and I absolutely love these pictures. I have been showing them off all week and everyone loves them. Jordan is absolutely gorgeous and I think they are a beautiful couple. thanks for letting caleb be a part of this. Pam Couch

April 26, 2009 - 1:32 pm diana, jordan's gran - Wow, fabulous photos, we always knew how special Jordan's relationship with a camera could be, but you bring it to a new place. Thanks for the viewing.

Leslie + Josh: Hooked!

I must admit- I’m shocked these two found me on facebook - but regardless, I couldn’t be happier! We couldn’t decide on a location for their engagement session, so I made a little suggestion, and luckily, they trusted me. I’m so glad they did, cause these pictures ROCK! I don’t know if it POSSIBLY had anything to do with Josh’s sense of humor, Leslie’s UNBELIEVABLE eyes, or the GORGEOUS light I had to work with, but I’d say I did aight! Take a look at my faves below- Josh + Leslie- I can’t WAIT for your wedding this fall!

April 27, 2009 - 9:43 pm MIMI - AMY, THESE PHOTOS ARE PHENOMENAL! YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY AN EXTRAORDINARY PHOTOGRAPHER. HAVING BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE(INSIDE AND OUT) TO PHOTOGRAPH MUST CERTAINLY ADD TO THE QUALITY OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT.

These girls rock!

I had an awesome session with Ella and Zoe today! Their mom is actually one of the club managers at the gym I go to- Anytime Fitness! We became fast friends and once she told me about her daughters, I knew they’d be perfect! These two sisters are so strong-willed and often annoy each other, but you’d never know it from these AMAZING images! They did a fabulous job and I’m so proud of them! These are some examples of what I’ll be offering exclusively for my kids portrait clients. Bold colors, textures, and FUN! If you like what you see and are willing to hand over the creative control and let your kids have some FUN at their photo session for a change, shoot me an email at amy@amywoodphotography.com or give me a call at 804-4134! Spots are very limited and book up soon!

Morgan is here!

It’s so amazing to me how fast time flies. For example, it seems like yesterday that my friend Keri and I were arguing over the same guy in jr. high, then the next thing I knew we became great friends during cheerleading, yearbook class, and even after graduation. Now we’re both married, and just a couple of weeks ago, Keri had her first little girl, Morgan! I can’t tell you how excited I’ve been to be able to shoot this session. All my baby clients are special to me of course, but anyone can understand how neat this was to hang out with the little munchkin! She did so well, and I can’t wait to show Keri my faves! Check them out!

April 9, 2009 - 8:08 pm Raylene and Eddie - Beautiful little girl. I love the black and white picture. What a doll!

April 8, 2009 - 9:48 pm Jana - Oh my gosh, Amy! These are so amazing. I love the one with the baby smiling, soooooo sweet! Too bad I'm not going to have another baby! Ha! Love 'em and love you!

April 8, 2009 - 2:43 pm Valerie Schooling - LOVE all of these, the scarves are such a great idea! The black and white and the last one are my fav's!

Welcome to the World, Asa!

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the newest blond boy into the Beaty family! You probably remember Kim’s maternity session that I shot a few weeks ago - well after some impatience on Kim’s part, Asa finally decided to make his debut! For his newborn session, Asa’s dad Jason wanted some really cool shots of his tattoos while holding Asa. We managed to get a few great ones, as little man wasn’t the happiest camper at that moment- but I love how they turned out! I caught some smiles along they way and even got some of him sleeping away in his grandfather’s old toy train! How cute is that! Oh! And we can’t forget about the Clemson spirit!:) Here are some of my faves!

June 27, 2009 - 4:50 pm Xiangxi - These photos are really amazing. I love your work!

April 8, 2009 - 9:52 pm Jana - Again, oh my gosh! Completely amazing! You totally rock, Amy!

April 8, 2009 - 2:45 pm Valerie Schooling - I love the pose in the next to last one the most...and the first two! You do such great work, Amy!

April 8, 2009 - 1:33 am Latosha Anderson - These are AMAZING!!! Where were you when my twins were born? WHERE????!!!

Meet Oliver!

It wasn’t too long ago that I shot Marie’s maternity session, and now here the little one is! I had an amazing session with this little one. He was simply adorable, and I couldn’t get enough of his little features and this look of wonder and amazement on his face! Oliver’s mom Marie wanted to include some special props from the family’s history- one was an old chair and another was an old journal from the 1800’s! It’s always great when parents have items ready for me to include in the newborn sessions. It makes the portraits that much more meaningful to them!
Check out my favorites below! I can’t wait to watch this little man grow!

April 23, 2009 - 7:19 pm Caleb - That Chevelle is perfect

April 9, 2009 - 11:50 am Maureen - How much room do I have? The 1st one blew me away, the 1st chair pic is just as sweet, in the sarong shot he looks both inquisitive and thoughtful, how cute. The shot with chair/windows is priceless. And the last one just says it all. Oliver is a beauty and these photos are very darn cool.
